An Irishman has been known to

FAQ's

enjoy a good drink, a good joke and good fight.............

We all know by now that I do not drink, I have not had a drop since 1983 and I thank God each and every day for my sobriety.

A good joke, always or at least almost always. Nothing like a good laugh especially when things around you can be a little chaotic and stressful

A good fight? Not for this guy, I am a lover not a fighter and besides that whenever there is a fight someone always gets hurt. There is enough suffering in this world without adding to it.

What Kind of Music Do You Enjoy?

FAQ's

Almost anything with the exception of Rap and Hip Hop. Not overly crazy about punk rock either but on occasion there have been few exceptions to that one.

I am partial to Classic Rock, Oldies, Country, Gospel (Country and Contemporary) and of course, Irish Music!

Nothing like a nice Irish ballad from an Irish tenor, though there have been some wonderful women who can sing some lovely Irish tunes as well.

Do You Enjoy a Good Drink Now and Then?

FAQ's

This is asked of me often......

And the answer is.................

NO...............

I know, I know.............

"An Irishman that don't drink? What has this world come to?"

Good question folks and I am the first one to tell you that it surely sounds like a contradiction in terms to say the least. I was a drinker at one time many many moons ago and I quit drinking at a very early age, just a few months shy of my 19th birthday.

How did you come up with the name Portly Irishman?

FAQ's

Very good question!

This little nickname came about a few years ago after I had sustained some health issues and my weight had ballooned up to nearly 250 pounds and let me tell you that is not a good thing for a Mick of my height, I am barely 5' 6" tall!

Needless to say I am basically not that much taller than a leprechaun and that is definitely a bit of weight to be carrying around. Besides that I kind of liked the name and it helps to start some conversartions.
